alright...well, if you read my other post about being pissed off that my Z was taking so long in the shop, you'd have some idea of what I'm talking about. You can form your own opinion on this one.
Last night on my way out, I pass by the shop. Usually everynight, I stop by and peek in the windows of the shop to check on the cars progress. So anyways, last night, I stop by the shop, and peek in. Only, NO Z. I walk around the place....NO Z outside. Now I can see the entire inside of the shop with the exception of the paint booth which I can barely see, and the car thats in there is under plastic, but definatly doesnt look like mine. So, I freak out. I figure, the guy doing the work told me A- all that was left to do was put the latch on the front hood and B- it couldnt be driven without it.
So...........wheres the car? I knew it was do to be ready today, so i figured they would bother moving it elsewhere. Therefore.....where is my Z? I figured that theres a few possible explanations....
1) My car was in fact under plastic in the paint room (highly doubtful, I'm 99% sure)
2) My car had been stolen out of the shops lot.
3) Someone from the shop was driving my car.
4) He had it stored away elsewhere. (again, doubtful because like I said, why move it when all you have to do is a 10 minute install of a hood latch today, and how would he have driven it somewhere if he claimed it was undrivable until they got the hood latch)
So, although there were 2 possible good explanations,
both were unlikely. So I of course being a friggin obsessive Z owner, think...one of them is out NJOYNMYZ, or its been stolen! Either way....I'm freaking out. I call my father up to have him meet me down there just to have someone to verify that my car in fact was not there, and he suggested I call the police if I was that worried about it. So, I did. They show up, I talk to them for a while explain the situation (I've calmed down a bit then) and tell them, I'd really rather not get him involved, I just wanted to have them make note that my car wasnt there (which, they never actually physically did). Instead, after they left, they called the shop owner and asked him the deal. I called the shop about 30 minutes ago and he picked up. (Hi, its Josh, did you get a call last night?) He's ripshit at me. yes I did (was the car in storage?) "it was absolutley in shop!" yelling, "I dont appreciate the godamn police calling me after hours...i dont appreciate hearing 'possible car stolen' from my garage over the police scanner..." etc. etc. etc.
"you've been looking in the windows at night" (I didnt know that was a problem) "Its not, but it means you dont trust us!" etc. etc. etc. "you've called a hundred times to check on the car"
(yeah, well...this job was supposed to be done the first week....its now been a month and 4 days...so you think I had reason to call a few times?) "I never said the first week!" (when I called to find out an approx day, so I could get an idea for rental car time, you told me it should be done my the end of the first week, if not definatly the beginning of the second).....
"you know what?! call me at 1:00!" *SLAM*click*
So,...interesting eh? He claimed it was in the shop. I didnt get into questioning him about it. But it's gonna suck having to deal with him when I go to pick it up.
I realize I may have jumped to conclusions...and again I admit I freaked....but I still find it real hard to believe that was my car under the plastic. The headlights on the car under the plastic looked nothing like Z lights. They had a yellow reflector lining underneath the headlight. I wish I had a camera, I'd post the picks and then I'd have proof. *sigh.....
anyways.....I'm open to opinions, after all I did just write this for all to read....
